Applying Animations

Animate properties like position and scale using built-in effects.

In Video Weaver, animation is handled through preset effects and specific animation modes that apply changes to a clip's properties over time, rather than manual keyframing.

Available Animations by Clip Type

The animation options available depend on the type of clip you have selected on the timeline.

Video Clips

When you select a video clip, you can choose one of the following animation modes from the "Animations" tab in the Effects Panel:

  • In/Out Animations: Apply a preset entrance or exit effect, like "Fade In" or "Slide Out Left".
  • Zoom & Pan: Create dynamic camera-like movements. You can set different zoom levels and positions at various points in the clip via the "Edit Zoom Timeline" button.
  • Mask: Animate a rectangular mask to reveal or hide parts of the video over time.
  • Move To: Create a simple linear movement from the clip's starting position to a new end position that you select on the canvas.

Image Clips

Image clips have a similar, but slightly more limited, set of options. You can choose one of the following:

  • In/Out Animations: Apply preset entrance or exit effects.
  • Mask: Use a static rectangular mask to crop the image.
  • Move To: Create a simple linear movement for the image.

Text Clips

Text clips have their own unique set of animation options. You can combine these effects.

  • In/Out Animations: Apply preset entrance and exit effects.
  • Text Effects: Choose a special text-only animation, such as a "Typewriter" or "Glitch" effect.
  • Move To: Create a simple linear movement for the text block.
